Best AI Tools for New Real Estate Agents: A Starter Stack Under $50/Month (2026)

Short answer: A new agent can cover writing, design, meeting notes, video and social scheduling for $0 using free plans of ChatGPT or Claude, Canva, Fathom, CapCut and Buffer. Use the CRM and transaction system your brokerage already provides. If you spend money, spend it on one thing: a CRM if your brokerage doesn't give you one (Wise Agent, $49/mo or $42/mo billed annually), or a paid AI assistant plus design (Claude Pro $20/mo and Canva Pro $18/mo, about $38/mo total) if it does.

Under $50/month: two ways to spend it

If your brokerage doesn't give you a CRM: buy one before anything else. Leads you can't follow up on are the most expensive thing in your business. Wise Agent is $49/mo, or $42/mo billed annually ($499/yr). It includes drip campaigns, transaction management, landing pages and 24/7 live support, and it's month-to-month with a 14-day free trial. The Librarian ($49.99/mo after a 30-day free trial) is the voice-first alternative. Keep everything else on free plans.

If your brokerage already provides a CRM: put the money into a paid AI assistant and design. Claude Pro is $20/mo ($17 billed annually) and Canva Pro is US$18/mo. That's about $38 a month for longer documents, more usage, brand kits and premium templates. Gemini's Google AI Plus ($4.99/mo) or Google AI Pro ($19.99/mo) are alternatives if you work in Gmail and Google Docs.

When you get your first vacant listing: add virtual staging only for that month. Collov AI starts at $19/mo for 60 photo credits and Virtual Staging AI at $16/mo for 6 photos (both billed yearly). Compare them in our cost-per-photo comparison.

What to skip in year one

  • Team-priced CRMs. Follow Up Boss is excellent, but at $69 per user a month it's built for agents buying online leads. See Wise Agent vs Follow Up Boss for when it's worth it.
  • Done-for-you content subscriptions like RealEstateContent.ai ($119/mo). Learn to write your own posts with a free AI assistant first, using our ChatGPT prompts for agents.
  • Paid listing-description tools before you have listings. ChatGPT or Claude handle the first drafts, and ListingAI has a free plan for one listing if you want a dedicated tool.
  • Several overlapping AI subscriptions. One general assistant is enough. Pick between ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini with our comparison.

A 30-day setup plan

  1. Week 1: Import your sphere into your brokerage CRM (or a Wise Agent trial) and tag everyone. Set up one monthly touch campaign.
  2. Week 2: Build a Canva brand kit: one flyer, one "just listed" post and one open house sign template.
  3. Week 3: Connect Fathom or Otter to your calendar so every buyer consultation has notes and a follow-up list. Tell clients you're recording.
  4. Week 4: Batch a month of social posts with your AI assistant and schedule them in Buffer. Film two 30-second videos and edit them in CapCut.

Rules to learn before you automate anything

Three mistakes catch new agents most often. First, Fair Housing: AI drafts can describe neighborhoods or ideal buyers in ways you can't publish, so read our Fair Housing guide for AI listings. Second, texting and calling: automated texts need consent under TCPA rules (see AI calls and texts rules). Third, client data: don't paste financial documents or IDs into a consumer chatbot (see is it safe to put client info in ChatGPT). Ask your broker which tools are approved before you sign up.

FAQ

Best AI Tools for New Real Estate Agents: A Starter Stack Under $50/Month?

A new agent can cover writing, design, meeting notes, video and social scheduling for $0 using free plans of ChatGPT or Claude, Canva, Fathom, CapCut and Buffer.

What AI tools should a new real estate agent use?

Start with a free AI assistant (ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini), Canva for design, a free AI notetaker such as Fathom, CapCut for video and Buffer for scheduling. Use your brokerage's CRM and transaction system. Add paid tools only when a free plan clearly limits you.

How much should a new agent spend on AI tools?

$0โ€“$50 a month is enough in year one. Spend it on a CRM if your brokerage doesn't provide one (Wise Agent is $49/mo, or $42/mo billed annually), otherwise on one paid AI assistant (about $20/mo) and Canva Pro (US$18/mo).

Is ChatGPT free enough for a new agent?

For drafting emails, captions and scripts, usually yes. ChatGPT's free plan limits uploads, image creation and deep research, so upgrade only if you hit those limits often.

Do new agents need a paid CRM?

Only if the brokerage doesn't give you one. Many brokerages include a CRM such as BoldTrail (kvCORE), Lofty or Rechat. Check before paying for a second system you won't use.
