Virtual Staging AI vs Collov vs REimagineHome: Cost per Photo Compared (2026)

Short answer: On published yearly pricing, Collov AI is the cheapest per photo (about $0.24–$0.33 per photo credit, from $19/mo for 60 credits). Virtual Staging AI is simplest if you stage a handful of rooms a month, but its per-photo cost drops only on bigger plans ($2.67 per photo on the $16/mo Basic plan, $0.53 on the $79/mo Enterprise plan). REimagineHome has the cheapest credits once you're on Pro ($29/mo for 200 credits, about $0.15 each), but credits are spent per generation, not per finished photo. All three are far cheaper than human-edited staging, which runs $16–$24 per image.

Prices and limits from each vendor's official pricing page, checked October 26, 2026. Per-photo figures are the monthly price divided by the monthly allowance. Virtual Staging AI publishes its own per-photo numbers. REimagineHome's page lists different credit amounts for Advanced and Agency in different places (400 vs 500, and 900 vs 1,200), so confirm the allowance at checkout.

What it costs for a real listing load

Say you stage two vacant listings a month at five rooms each, so 10 photos:

  • Virtual Staging AI: Basic (6 photos) is too small, so you'd need Standard at $19/mo (20 photos).
  • Collov AI: Standard at $19/mo covers it, with 60 credits, leaving room for retries and extra angles.
  • REimagineHome: Essential at $14/mo (30 credits) covers 10 rooms if most come out right in a few tries, but it uses the legacy tools. Pro at $29/mo is the full design studio.
  • Human-edited staging: 10 images at BoxBrownie's US$24 per image is $240. Styldod is $16 per image when you order 8 or more, so $160.

At this volume all three AI tools cost about the same ($14–$29/mo). The real difference is how many tries it takes to get a room that looks right, which is why the "unlimited renders" on Virtual Staging AI and "unlimited regeneration" on Collov matter more than the headline price.

Which one to pick

  • You stage a few rooms a month and want it simple: Virtual Staging AI. You pay for finished photos, re-render as much as you like, and Basic is $16/mo.
  • You want the lowest cost per photo, or also need twilight and sky edits: Collov AI. Standard is $19/mo for 60 credits, and Advanced ($49/mo) adds photo editing so you may not need a separate photo editing tool.
  • You stage whole listings at once or want design control: REimagineHome Pro ($29/mo) adds Listing Batch Processing and conversational editing.
  • The room is tricky (odd angles, dark, cluttered) or the listing is high-end: pay a human service such as Styldod or BoxBrownie for that photo, and use AI for the rest.

All three offer free designs or trials, so stage the same empty room in each before you pay. See every option in our virtual staging tools list.

Don't skip the disclosure

Virtually staged photos usually have to be labeled, and you can't use staging to hide defects or change permanent features. California's AB 723 has required disclosure and access to the original photo since January 1, 2026, and many MLSs have their own rules. Read our virtual staging disclosure guide before you upload. Collov's one-click disclaimer helps, but you're still responsible for following your MLS rules.

Which is cheapest per photo: Virtual Staging AI, Collov or REimagineHome?

On yearly pricing, Collov AI's credits cost about $0.24–$0.33 each, against $0.53–$2.67 per photo for Virtual Staging AI. REimagineHome Pro credits are about $0.15 each, but you spend one credit per generation, so a room that takes several tries costs several credits. Prices checked October 26, 2026.

Does Virtual Staging AI charge per render?

No. Its pricing page lists unlimited renders and downloads on every plan. You're limited by the number of photos per month (6, 20, 60 or 150 depending on plan).

Does REimagineHome have a free trial?

Its pricing page says all new users get 5 free designs.

Do I have to disclose virtual staging?

Usually yes. MLS rules and some state laws, including California's AB 723, require labeling and access to the unstaged original. See our disclosure guide.

Is AI staging good enough to replace a human editor?

For most empty, well-lit rooms, yes. For awkward angles or luxury listings, many agents still pay $16–$24 per image for a human-edited service.
